"Circe" Necklace

Sale price€180,00

Circe, encountered by Odysseus on the island of Aeaea, is a captivating figure due to her changing nature.

She appears differently depending on who is looking at her: powerful, enigmatic, deeply human.

Unlike the ring inspired by her, the necklace does not depict a multifaceted Circe, but rather her profile as a fleeting, hinted image. Her human face is set within the green agate, symbolizing her otherworldly power.

Artistic and literary inspiration

Circe is a figure who defies a single definition.

In the Odyssey, she appears as a sorceress and a force of transformation, capable of changing whatever she touches. But over time, her image shifts, accumulates layers, and multiplies.

In John William Waterhouse’s paintings, Circe takes on different forms: dark and distant in "Circe Invidiosa", more human and present in "Circe".

Two images that are not mutually exclusive, but coexist.

‘Circe’ arises from this tension: from the possibility of being, each time, something different.
